Technology is changing business for everyone – from small home- based businesses to mega multi-national corporations. Whether you are inspired or threatened by those changes, they are here to stay, or more accurately, to continue changing. You cannot only survive these changes, but turn them into exciting opportunities by applying some basic organizing principles.
Before you get started, you must know some important things. A website should be professional and easy to navigate. You run a professional business, so your website should have the same look and feel. As for navigation, fewer pages are better. No one wants to visit 10 different pages on your website before finally finding your contact information. Chances are, they will give up after the 5th and turn to a competing Network marketing coach.
Last but most important, hire a qualified, experienced, friendly internet marketing coach. Your coach will guide and direct you to a prosperous end. Follow your coach's teachings and methods for at least 6 months to a year. Notice the results. If they are appearing, stay with that coach!
When I ask coaches in my workshops how many new clients they get from their website the answer is frequently 1 in 10 months or so. Or if they are out there networking, it's probably a new client every few months.
Too many technology coach are confused about the concept of the niche. They either don't define a niche, or define it so broadly that it's not a niche at all. They fear that by defining a niche, they will miss the opportunity to coach. The truth is simple. Niche is all about marketing, not coaching. You define a niche so that you can clearly understand who it is you are marketing to, and what that niche needs.
There is a right way though, that will help you avoid the pit falls, and speed up the process. First develop a good business plan, a clear and precise plan. Set goals, than take massive and consistent action to achieve your goals. Finally hire a business coach, to hold you accountable to your plan.
And make sure that your coach responds to your emails and questions BEFORE you sign up. If the coach ignores your questions before the sale, strike that coach off your list. The service will not improve after he has your money.
And, that falls back to what I said earlier about getting specific. If you are a successful coach, and I mean successful at getting clients, AND at delivering successful results to your clients once you do get them, you've probably found that some of your clients tend to get better results, so who are they? And what kind of measurable result do they get?
An online marketing coach will guide you around the dead roads and the pitfalls normally associated with the process. And the pitfalls can seem endless. Every method in internet has a few successful streets but those are way out numbered by the dead ends. It sometimes seems like banging your head against the wall for know sane or logical reason you can even remember, but you continue because you want to make money from home.
You want defined outcomes that can be measured and that will produce sustainable results for you. I always begin my coaching engagements with a leadership and communication assessment, which I have found is vital to developing viable and measurable outcomes for the coaching engagement. You take the assessment online and it provides you with a snapshot of whom you are right now. It also provides key behavioral elements of how you are perceived as a leader and communicator.
Continually practice the Art of Wastebasketry?. Research shows we use only 20% of what we keep. For each piece of information you receive, whether in hard copy or on the computer screen, ask these questions: Does this require action? Can I identify a specific use? Would it be difficult to get again? Is it recent enough to be useful? If the answer to all those questions is “No,” ask one final question: “What's the worst thing that could happen if I don't have this piece of paper?” If you can live with your answer – toss or recycle it! Take a look around your office. Do you see unused equipment, books you'll never use again, drawers full of unidentified paper, or outdated inventory? If so, you'll experience a new sense of energy if you get rid of it.
In fact, we also suggest that you practice by being on the receiving end of some coaching as well. That's right. Part of our model is to have our students coach others. But we also give them opportunities to be technology coach. That allows them to experience the feeling of being asked questions and getting to use powerful tools.
An internet marketing coach will give you advice on what you should do and shouldn't do. She will also help you when you are having down times in your business. She will encourage you ever step of the way.
